Success Criteria
When I am reading I will:
  1. Use the information in the text to make judgements about it.
  2. Use my prior (existing) knowledge to help make judgements about the text.
  3. Read parts of the text several times to make a judgement about the text.
  4. Know that the conclusion or assumption may not be directly written and I will have to use the information in the text to make one.

Success Criteria:
We have used some of these tools to improve our use of vocabulary:
  • thesaurus, dictionary
  • Banish Boring Words
  • Visuwords www
  • word cards from the writing tool box
  • used ideas borrowed from other writing
  • used figurative writing eg similes, metaphors etc

WALT find perimeters, areas and volumes of simple shapes
Success Criteria
We have:
  • Calculated perimeter by adding up the measurements of each side of the shape. We have put the correct unit of measurement after the total.
  • Calculated area by multiplying the length by the width of the shape and recorded the answer as a squared measurement.
  • Calculated volume by multiplying the length by the width by the height of the shape and recorded the answer as a cubic measurement.


Add a basic facts goal here.

Know what different words mean.
My reading group did a word map about the article Ants on the March, what we had to do is we had to find two words we didn’t know in the story and we had to find the word we are doing in a dictionary.
My next step in Reading is to make a conclusion or an assumption.

Use interesting words and phrases (vocabulary) in my writing.
I wrote a poem about the Cross Country. The way i found interesting words is i thought of what i did in the Cross Country and thought of different words to boring words.
My next step is use interesting and detailed ideas in my writing.

Solve a problem by using my 2x, 5x, 10x, facts then adding or taking a little bit more. Solve a problem by using groups of 2’s, 3’s, 5’s, & 10’s, & remainders
I used my tables to help me solve problems eg 43 /5 = 8 remainder 3 because 8x5=40, 40 +3=43.
I am currently trying to know my 3,4 times tables off by heart, And i am currently getting to know my 6,7,8,9 times tables.

I’ve improved with my handwriting by practising putting my letters  neatly on the line.

For Maths see above. I also had to sit a harder asttle Measurement test because I had not goals to be achieved in the first one.
My next step for handwriting is to be able to link my letters.

My next step for maths is to get onto Stage 6a.
